How To Change Your Tube

1. Starting opposite the valve, insert the tire lever.

2. Using the second tire lever, work your way around the rim to get one side of the tire completely off the rim.

Leaving the valve in the rim try to locate the puncture by inflating the tube and listening for a leak.

Once the puncture is found check the tire in the surrounding area for a sharp object that may be lodged in the tire.


3. Now that you have inspected the tire, you are ready to install a new tube.

4. With the the tire half way on the rim, insert the tube valve into the rim.

5. Starting at the valve, position the tube so that it sits in between the tire and rim. Sometimes this is easier if the tube is slightly inflated.

6. Seat the valve by pushing up the tube valve. You are now ready to re-install the tire.

7. Start at the valve. Using your hands simultaneously, move your hands around the rim towards each other while rolling the tire onto the rim. When you reach the point opposite the valve, the tire should be almost on. This is the hardest part. Try to use the palms of your hands to get the rest of the tire on the rim. If you just can't get it with your hands use a tire lever but be careful not to pinch the tube.


8. Now that the tire is completely on the rim you need to make sure the tube is completely seated in the tire. Pinch the tire and check both sides making sure you don't see any tube sticking out. Work your way around the rim. You are now ready to inflate your tire.
